Exclamation

I picked up my car this afternoon- they had to replace the speed sensor harness; now it down shifts when I tell it to, and w/PSM off it doesn't hang/stutter when when I push it and it's supposed to upshift.
The SVC Mgr came over to me with an extended open hand and asked me how my day went. I asked him if he was still hating me, to which he said, "not at all, water under the bridge, and I have a credit for you in the amount of $50 the next time you come in for mainteance."
I reminded him that as long as the ad keeps running I will be demanding the discount, and he said, "and I will make sure you get your discount as stated in the ad, not a problem."
I can't help but wonder if he realized how far over the line he went and he feels remorse for treating a customer that way, or if he is concerned about me calling his boss, or if he had a fight w/ his wife before work.
In the end, I am happy he is singing a new song, but wonder what wil happen next time.
I'll pass on calling the General Mgr or the Dealership's Prinipal this time, buecause every other time he has treated me well; but next time I'll be taping the convesation to play for his boss if he acts like that again.

Ive had numerous terrible experiences with Pepe Porsche.

I ordered an 05 Turbo S Cab and bought a GT3 a month before it came.

When the Turbo came after a 6 month wait. The options I ordered were completely messed up, stitching was half white and half yellow, not all yellow as I had explicitly specified in a paper trail.

Manager and salesmen tried to cover it up and tried to make me sign a contract saying they'd fix it, which was basically saying I would be obligated to buy the car and forfeit my discount.

After I made quite a big deal about it in the community, they tried to ask me to order another car, and after 4 months gave me my deposit back.

They are hands down the WORST dealer in the NY area.

I would recommend anyone to avoid them like the plague.

My salesman was Gary and he was very straight forward and had no problems with getting my Boxster....

I won't mention names because we both work/live in the same town now, but both salesman and service manager don't work there anymore.

It was quite possibly the worst car-buying experience I've ever had.

Service department was friendly, but inconviently far from the dealer.

Service at Pepe was also a bad experience though,

I dropped off my boxster the day I picked up my GT3 for a broken glovebox lever. 2 weeks later, got it back with more scratches and not fixed.

Also, they did mess up some pre-delivery installing on my GT3, which I had to spend money to fix at another dealer since my relationship with that dealer de-materialized into outright hostility after the Turbo S incident.

Personally I would rather pay more money and be satisfied at Fairfield Porsche (CT), or New Country Greenwich (CT), at least they do everything on location and the staff seems more like a family than a bunch of thieves.

I do all my buying and servicing at Fairfield now, there are better deals to be found elsewhere (NJ) but there is just no substitute for getting things done right the FIRST time and without strings attached or being insulted for calling them out on their mistakes.
