Radio ON, but not working

my radio on my 04 S, no nav, just the cd player, isnt putting out any sound. Everything works, except for no sound. Turned the car off, didn't help, turn the radio off and zip, same thing. Then 4 hours later when I got it the car sound was back to normal. Anyone have this happen to them?

Did a search but turned up nothing TIA

...I did exactly what you did. Turned the car off and left for work, when I got back everything work perfectly and continued like this ever since (it happened 3 years ago...). The car is a Boxster S (986).

This happened to me a couple of times in my '04 CTT. I mentioned it to the dealer when I took it in for service later; they were familiar with the problem and fixed it (something about adding additional shielding, if I recall correctly).

Happened a few times in the last 3 years. Just don't keep turning up the volume, cause it gets really loud when it comes back on. WHAT?
