Thinking of Purchasing...few Questions

I am thinking of buying an 04 Cayenne or cayenne S..

Now is the base version Cayenne has a VW engine and the Cayenne S has the Porsche engine ?

What are the differences between Cayenne and Cayenne S ?

I am going to traveling alot, How is teh Fuel Efficieny on this Car ? Will I manage 20 MPH , does it take premuim ?

How is the resell value , .. is it fairly easy to sell back this car after a few years ?

THANKS !!

if you can, get an "S". The only difference is the HP, but boy is it a big one

I'm probably not the best person to ask about fuel efficiency. Yes, they all take premium.

Resale value---------->

The depreciation on them sucks. But since you're thinking about getting an 04, someone else will have paid for the depreciation.

Good luck in your search!

I would also get the S but the fuel efficiency...well dont expect anything amazing, but it is still a fun car to drive.

The bottom line is that the Cayenne is the most enjoyable driving experience you can have in an SUV (at least in my opinion). I would recommend getting the "fastest" Cayenne you can afford (turbo > S > you get the idea).

However, to answer you questions: both fuel efficiency and depreciation are horrible. I did mention it was really fun to drive, right?

Definitely get the "S", which is what i have. Some interior components are nicer looking in the S than the base...which I dont like...have had some base ones as loaners and the aluminum trims in the S are much nicer. The turbo of course is superb, but more expensive as well.

I average out 12-14 mpg probably between highway & city, mostly highway. I travel a lot as well, making frequent 1200 mile round trip stints. I average out at about 18-18.5 mpg, in my opinion not all that bad considering.

Although my M3 on the same trips used to give me 28 mpg and my a4 used to give me 28mpg as well so....

But i agree with a post above, it is by far the best ride you'll get in an SUV
