Let me tell you how it usually goes for me:

Me: Yep, she sure is. Tell you what I'll offer you invoice

Salesperson: Ok, how about MSRP and we call it a deal

Me: Done!

Seriously, the silver one they have doesn't have everything I want on it and they blacked out the chrome trim! Now, the one I saw here at the local dealer, black on black, stainless skid plates, roof rails, PDCC, PTV, loaded to the hilt for 130.....I have to stay away from there!

 

Did they sell the black TT with the beige interior that was in the showroom? I really liked that one. Was going to return this weekend to hear the Burmester per Kriegs recommendation.

AM, if you are just taking back cars off lease, your negotiating example is incomplete! You miss the second opportunity to wrestle re a trade, too.

Jen re your trade, I always use Edmunds used car seller to value my cars to make sure dealers give a fair price. It provides 3 different values based on how you plan to exit your car. It has worked well with the dealers in this area. It keeps a floor under the value and I only introduce it after driving the discount.

 

Funny thing when I tracked the 2011 Cayenne S last weekend at the Braman event PBIR, as soon as I jumped in the lead driver said ready lets go, off we went, drove it roughly 20 minutes all out, once I got out they asked how did you like the interior? I never looked at it!!! Fun but not the Turbo. Ask the dealer in your area will there be a track event with these SUV's, totatly different perspective of what it can really do.

 

Hey guys, I finally picked up my CS yesterday. It's fabulous! Couldn't be happier, unless of course I got a CTT.

It turned out to be a car someone had ordered, but couldn't qualify creditwise. My original car was still stuck at the port and this one had more equipment I wanted. Anyway, here are a few early pictures...

Some first driving impressions to come later. I must say the electronics in the car are marvelous. You can display almost anything in the instrument display panel. Everything is really well integrated. Better than X5 50 and RR Sport. The interior is better than anything else out there. The front looks good. Starting to warm up to the rear.

 

Very nice! Congratulations and enjoy it in good health! Porsche's new interior just kills it for sure.

So what options did she come with?

I kinda wanted the roof rails because I like to use the ski rack on the roof. Ski a lot during the winter and it's so much cleaner just to throw the skis on the roof. But not so happy having to pay $1200 for roof rails which every other SUV comes with. But that's Porsche.

I wish it had: air suspension, PTV, full leather, Keyless go, and Burmester. But unfortunately that would make it $90k! So I'm happy with this one.

Bill, the black turbo is gone. I think that was the last turbo they were getting for this year. I didn't get a chance to PM you yet, but when I get ready to go deal, I'll ask for some insight! I just redid my build to include the Burm, not much more, but I am at 93k now. Getting close to turbo territory!

 

Jen, I feel your pain as I just added the rear entertainment to satisfy my children and am at $95k, but the turbo similarly equipped is at least $115k.

I am still negotiating over price as my dealer likes to add lojack, nitrous, etc and charge for it. I will get screwed by Porsche as they have earned the right, but I cannot buy from that dealer on principal alone.

 

Could you buy from another dealer??? I think I might shop about 4 dealers before I make up my mind.

 

We have a guy out here called Hammer Auto who is basically a broker and will do a killer deal (even on leases). Just tell him what you want and he'll try to get it for you and will also set up the financing/lease. I've bought a car or two from him and he has always delivered. In fact, he actually surprised me by having a lower payment when I picked up the car, than what he had told me on the phone. If you are not doing a custom build might be the way to go. Would probably ship the car to wherever you are and you'd still be ahead.

Thanks! But, I have the trade. Does he do that, too? My 997 came to me on a trailer, so I can deal with that as well. I would rather buy locally, well at least a 3 hour drive. I know one FL dealer who has its' own contained trailer that will deliver right to your door and at no charge.

 

Jen, you probably already checked but Jim Ellis in Atlanta lists a fair number of CS and turbos in inventory. This might be an alternative if you didn't want to wait for an order. I did see a sand white on there. Since there are so many listings some may be duplicates but a decent number of turbos listed. I think it is good you want white since at least 3 of us on this thread have already been unoriginally gray.

AM, never congratulated you on the X5. I still think it is a cool looking vehicle-I like it's looks better than the CS in some ways. Love the comfort seats. I am just ticked at them right now, plus we do see them everywhere. However, I think you might have that exclusivity thing covered with this other car of yours!

Krieg, not sure what is up with your dealer? Why does it take him so long to conclude a deal? Is it a seller's market in your area?
