2011 Porsche Entry and Drive problems
Anyone out there beside myself having occasional problems with the keyless system? My Cayenne seems to occasionally not recognize the presence of my keys. I've gotten a few "key not recognized" error messages and occasionally i have to actually use the key to either lock or unlock the doors. Or perhaps the seat wont move forward to its memory position when i start her up. I asked the dealer, they checked the vehicle out and couldn't find the problem. I was told that this was a recurring issue in 2010 and it was cured by a software update. They attempted the same update on my 2011 but to no avail. They then replaced both of my keys, explaining to me that they were advised by Porsche that the chrome plating on the keys was causing the problem. That didn't fix the problem either. So, i'm left with the keyless system working about 80% of the time...Any suggestions? Anyone else suffering reliability issues with their entry and drive system? Works great when it works but...
I have experienced this as well, but probably only 5%-10% of the time (failures). In those cases, I have had to unlock the door with the remote. I have always been able to start the car though. I also have had other issues where I have not been able to lock the car and have had to use the remote as well.
I purchased my car off the lot and it had this option on it. I would not have picked the option and my experience with it confirms that if I were ordering the car, that I would not order it as an option. I don't feel like it really is that much more convenient than having to use the key...

Never have had a problem unlocking or starting the car, but sometimes the seat doesn't move all the way forward. I think the latter issue is from other seat memory issues like not driving the car for a few days. Otherwise, works how it's supposed to and wouldn't want to be without it.
I would start by recharging car battery to full first. Second, I would replace ALL car key batteries to VERIFIED new...only then I would look further...

I changed the key battery and I still have the same problem!
OK - my problem is sort of solved - I noticed when I had the key and my cell phone (iphone) in the same pocket, this issue occurred more frequently. Since I noticed this, I keep the keys and my mobile phone in separate pockets and the problem has gone away...
It took me a year to figure what was the problem
Having Same Problem
2 month-old 2012 Cayenne S with Entry & Drive. Occassional problems with Key not Recognized, but it almost never returns the car seat to its proper position and it keeps resetting car settings (e.g. I turn comfort entry off, but it resets to on within the next few startups). I don't generally carry my cell phone in the same pocket and the problem happens even when the cell phone is not with me. Guess its time to see the dealer.
Once every twenty starts I get a key not recognized. I always thought it was bc key was too far away from the ignition switch. I just then reset the key fob on the dash then crank again and always starts. Never had to remove the key and manually do anything.
Occasionally I have to hold the memory button to have the seats reset themselves, but again this is once every twenty times or so.

Same issues here. Key not recognized, tailgate won't go down when you hit the close & lock button, seat won't go back to where it's supposed to when you get in the car. Had the the car in the shop 4 times already, Porsche dealer can't find anything wrong although it happens constantly.
