That sucks

If it's not too bad you might want to leave it as the sacrificial damage to protect the rest of the car

Seriously, I freaked out and fixed every little mar to my XK8 and something happened almost immediately after getting it fixed. My Golf got t-boned (she just rolled into it and dented the door) and I rocked that dent for 3 years without another scratch showing up. My Escape had a good run with no damage after it's first dent, finally got it fixed and got hit a week later.

Finally got my Cayenne back after 3 months getting repainted and it got a dent from a rock on the right fender and the wind caught the door and slammed it into someone's mirror to the tune of a nice dent on my door and nothing on their car. Both within 2 weeks of having it back I'm leaving it as is and will believe that nothing else will happen. Besides, they are both on the passenger side so I don't have to look at it

Jeez Gnat WTF?

On the 11th day of getting my CTT I was on the Long Island Expwy and something kicked up from a truck way up ahead and hit my hood scraping it up and then hit the windshield making several dings in the glass that I can see when I drive. I touched up the scrapes and don't look at them and I didn't have the heart to replace a brand new windshield so I live with it and rarely notice it.
But in the case of DrVolkl I would want that taken care of quickly and move on with the enjoyment of his masterpiece GTS.......

Sorry to read about those instances above. Inasmuch as misery loves company, on the day I picked up my Cayenne from the dealer in the US, on the way home, when I got home I noticed a small chip in the windshield. Don't even know if it happened on the way from the dealer or if it happened on the ship as they didn't wrap my car because it was used. I took European Delivery and drove it over 3K miles in Europe without having it or noticing it if it was there. Very small...maybe 1-2mm. Filled it with superglue gel, then when it was dry took a razor and shaved it flat by resting the razor on the windshield as I scraped. It's just to the right center of my field of view but after two years I don't even notice it anymore. I think the Porsche windshields are susceptible to chips much more than any other car I've had.

Aerial shot lol. Estimated repair from key damage $1500. I'm trying to decide what to do. I can't really leave it like that, but I wouldn't want it to happen again. I don't trust body shops to get it right... ugh.

Such a magnificent car and new car. I think you should fix and forget about it.
You don't want to look at the scratch over and over.
I just dumped $1500 in to bodywork on my 99 Durango and it still looks like new.

Yeah, I know... just don't want to ever have to do that again. I was looking at it today... horrible!

Rims are done... as soon as I get em mounted etc, I'll have more pics.

I must have missed you posting about them before, who makes those? They should look really sweet against the black.
