Order date/ Build date question..

Ordered my 2012 about a month ago. Order just locked in yesterday 7/11/11 apparently, according to my salesman's email. The suggested build date is 10/12/11, meaning i wont receive the car until mid November?!

Ive read a few other posts where people have an order on 7/6/11 and a suggested build date of 8/22/11. Is there any reason why mine is a 2 month longer wait?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

The determining factor is not the date on which an order is placed; it is the date the dealership has been allocated on which the order will be processed (i.e., the date on which the car is actually built on the production line).

If your build date is mid-October, you more likely than not won't be getting your car until early December..

Also don't forget in Germany they shut down for about a month (I think its August) so if your build date is after that...it's a longer wait.

Yes, Germany and the rest of Europe as well take summer holiday for most industries for 3 weeks starting on august 1st. So the order won't be worked on for most of august. Also, what jmeyersnv said. Build date is relative to what the dealers allocation is not when you place the order. The can only use allocations given to them by Porsche and they are set in queue with everyone else.
