Oil Level

Just noticed that i'm a liter and a half low after only 6,000 miles. I have read most of the posts on this and it seems that oil consumptions issues are mostly on V8s and TT's. I was curious to hear about others with V6's. I know these cars eat oil but i didn't think the V6 would go thru this much. Think i should have the dealer take a look?

pmichaelis is infamous around these parts
You definitely do not have an oil consumption problem. This level +/- is necessary to keep your engine from seizing up. If your rings ran dry, they'd seize in a second, the same for valves, etc. It has little to do with which type of engine and a lot to do with operation of internal combustion motors.

I just had to have the dealer drain half a quart of oil from our V6. We have 800 miles on it and twice a warning light came on indicating that oil was filled above the maximum. I never added any since taking delivery last month. Looks like someone at the factory was a little fill happy.
