2011-12 Cayenne S Hybrid Experiences / Q&A

Please share tips and experiences with Hybrid.

Here is my first observation/tip.

Tip #1. Disable Auto Start/Stop

The 2012 Hybrid does not come with a button to disable the auto stop start function. Dealer says it will interfere with the automated Hybrid Engine management.

Q. How to you get the truck to minimize turning the engine off when you need it to stay at the ready/on?

A. Push the sport button. Then put the Gear selector **** in the manual position. Then go drive aggressively (shifting manually) for a few minutes.

The result: The engine stays on at stop lights and most coasting opportunities. The engine program "maps" to your need AND the battery reaches full charge quicker as a result of the increased power generated.

On my CT,when I put the AC,and seat ventilation on.....50% of the time, the Auto-stop function will be disabled(an A with a red arrow across it,just like if you had switched it off!) to not put too much strain on the system...Pushing the sport button actually automatically turns it off
