I totally agree with Galion on the air suspension. Test drove a Cayenne with 21" and no air suspension, my wife and I both felt the ride was harsh. You can always upgrade the wheels later, but can't upgrade the air suspension. Just my 2 cent.

Hello kw911TT & Galion,
I am planning to test drive cayenne w. w/o air sus and hopefully feel the difference since many recommended air sus. Will keep you all posted on my build order. Good night you all

Remember to play with the AS settings and also the PASM settings. As I found the AS on low with PASM set to sport unbearable.

Hello VinceC=V,
I heard you. Interesting topic (air vs. PASM) you wrote in the other thread. Will leave feedback there after the test drive.

Ben I checked with your dealer and they wouldn't budge on the price for a v6. And as luck would have it we found one with color and option we wanted in Torrence, so I went ahead with it.

Good luck with your purchase!

Ben,

I Highly recommend the air-suspension, especially if you are going with larger wheels. You can always buy some high-quality replicas if you really like the turbos in either 20" or "22:

Hi WFBlue, I still debate myself for air sus. Not an easy call. Will let you know once I finalize the option.
BTW I remember you said you were considering larger wheels in other thread. Have you sized up your wheels? I saw Cayenne same as yours (Silver with 19inch) and it looked great in real. Looked much better than in pic you posted. I think both meteor and classic silver are great color to go with.

I guess I'll jump on the bandwagon and also second the air suspension... If price is a factor, I'd drop the PTV first, and then next maybe the turbo II's, in order to add the air suspension, or even the PDCC. I have both the PDCC and PTV on my CTT, and don't really notice the PTV (I haven't let the rear end loose yet either tho, as it's in the break-in period still) but I do notice the PDCC, you can almost feel the car leaning into turns to stay flat. Very nice.

The height adjustable suspension is nice peace of mind too, when you encounter a really steep curb, or when parking. I also like the look of the cayenne dropped though. So I find myself playing around with the height settings a lot just in day-to-day use

I'd say everything else on your list is perfect. Great color choices, what interior trim did you choose?

Ben, Likely I will end up with different wheels; probably 20" no larger to ensure a smooth ride even with the AS. I like the 20" turbo replicas, but I am enjoying shopping (obsessively) for other after market options. One nice thing about the turbo II is the ease of cleaning; the brake dust on my CS requires a good clean weekly; I can't stand dirty rims and my current 19"s take a bit of effort, though nothing compared to the 20" spyders. I like the deep concave style but its not so easy finding them for the 958. It is also easy to go overboard on the "styling" and cheapen the look of the Cayenne. Good luck.

Hi Finiteyoda, interior wise umber/creme will be it. but....within 85K budget, it was out. Since many Porsche guru/yoda (I am not picking on your ID) here advised to get air sus, I am reconsidering dropping Tur II wheels for air sus. At the end it all comes down to money . Thank you for all the great inputs you all!

85k with or without tax? don't forget that as well as the destination.

PDCC is the most important thing that you are missing. The whole reason to get a cayenne over other sporty SUV's is for the way it drives. Other than the acceleration the PDCC gives the handling characteristics that are much more noticeable than anything else (eg. PTV). So drop the PTV and get PDCC, I know the latter cost more but at 85k make it happen. For every 1k in price your payment goes up by 20/mo, so start sacrificing starbucks, and make your lunch everyday and that will help you afford these.

Yea, agreed, I'd drop the PTV and Turbo II's, in order to get the PDCC. PTV you can live without, and wheels you can always upgrade later (and it's nice to have a set of 18's or 19's if you ever plan to venture off-road or onto snow). Just my two cents.
