I detailed my Cayenne today noticed that there are several superficial scratches in the exterior gloss black trim. This car is new and has been garaged.
Has anyone noticed that these are very susceptible to scratches?

Any recommendations on how to take care of these?

A high quality wax did not do the trick...

Go to Griot's garage online (griotsgarage.com) and get yourself a detailing kit for Xmas. You also need a good hand orbital polisher that they sell on their website.

The clear coat on the Porsche cars are so soft, that they are susceptible to scratches. Also, make a habit of using nothing but microfiber drying towels if you don't already use it. Cotton towels, etc will scratch the clear coat!

I used a number 3 polisher cream from Griot's on my green Carrera S which had some swirl marks with the hand orbital polisher and after following the instructional video from them, it is like brand spanking new! It even removes deep scratches on the clear coat if needed by using a grittier polish compound which comes with the kit I bought.
