need opinion on weight of wheels
hey guys,
i have a question for my V6 Cayenne wheels. i am debting in between a 22" MRR wheel and a 22" replica wheels.
MRR wheel is about 5 lb lighter, the replica is about 38lbs.
Am i going to notice any difference in terms of power? or handling to the drive of the car?

replica wheels are usually heavier. I had replica wheels before my 22 modulare wheels came in. I didn't notice much difference in them, but heavier wheels will put additional burden on the suspension components over time.
no problem whatsoever. Some replica wheels are quite good in quality, its just the making process is usually different from the forged wheels I have now. They might be more prone to potholes than forged wheels.
With 38lbs (which is seriously a large mass considering all the options) the unsprung weight (pretty much anything not bolted on to the chassis) really influences the handling and ride.
With that in mind, when you lower the unsprung weight, you allow for better rebound of the shocks, better handling, better stopping and better acceleration because the rotational weight is lowered. My advice would be to go with something forged and lighter in the case of this issue.
