Anyone get a V1 or Escort etched into the rear view mirror? And if so, are you happy with it? I'm a little concerned it will either obstruct my view or distract me.

yes, i have the escort 9500ci system installed in my vehicle and i got the display integrated into the rear view mirror (top right side). i got it from this company: http://radar-mirror.com/

they did a good job.

I think I read that they can integrate the mute button on the mirror (only button I really fiddle with on the V1). The other controls is that remote control unit you get from V1 and stick it somewhere inconspicuous for when you need to make other adjustments.

 

does not interfere... but i put display in top right of mirror. i like it. i put the controls to the right of my right leg on top of the flat piece that makes up part of the center console, but on the side. not sure if i'm explaining that properly... can do pictures later on. it looks good and is easy to hit the mute button this way.

 

Do you still have the auto dim feature with the integrated radar in the mirror?

 

A little off topic, but has anyone used the STiR Plus by Beltronics?
The remote mounting removes the distraction component. I know they are mounted lower than windshield, but seem to get good ratings.

 

I have one, never installed it, still have to have main unit top pick up signals, why have both, make me an offer?

 

yes, still dims the mirror as normal.
