Heated Windshield Chip

So I was driving over the weekend and a pebble shot up from the car in front of me and chipped my windshield. Wondering if anyone's had their windshield replaced and if so, do you suggest having it done by Porsche or is it OK to get done by a 3rd party? Particularly helpful if you've had the heated windshield replaced. I'm actually thinking about replacing it with a non-heated windshield since everything looks blurry at night w the heated windshield.

If you have any thoughts on the matter, I'm all ears...

While I have never gotten my heated windshield replaced....I can tell you what I would do if I was in your situation. I would have it repaired. I have had several chips repaired in other vehicles and they look close to perfect. I can only assume that a replacement heated windshield will be VERY expensive. I guess like you said you can always have standard glass installed but I LOVE my headed windshield and use it frequently.

I had mine replaced late last year. In MA is covered by insurance w. no deductible. You can only get OEM glass. No one else makes it. You should get OEM anyway. Your local Porsche service dept probably has a preferred glass installer that come to the dealership. That's how it was done with mine.
