engine oil interval question..

we all know the service interval for engine oil is 15000km...
but i have a feeling this is a bit too long..
is it really OK?? to change at that number??
or should i just change it at every 10000km.. just to feel more comfortable

I've usually paid for oil changes mid interval between manufacturer's recommendations. I'll have to see if I am going to do this for the Porsche. I think you should base it on the type of environment / type of driving you do. I drive by dusty areas going to the office everyday, so my oil comes up really dirty even at mid interval.

hmm i guess 10000km is the answer for me...

they should make a system to tell us when to change!
oil level is helpful but... for me having a healthy clean oil is primary!!

thank u v10m !

They do have a message that tells you that. Look in your multi-function display under Vehicle. Somewhere in there is a 'Messages' menu which will show you miles remaining until you need the oil changed.
