Good news (I guess) but nothing official from Porsche website yet.
|
wow.. cayenne s owners would be tempted..
like me! porsche should make a conversion promotion for current S owners... and could sell well! ...i would get it! maybe in a year! just for a change ^__^ |
Ill take a Cayenne GTS body with the specs and interior of the Turbo S.
|
No PDK = pass.
|
I have a deposit in with my local dealer on a 2013 S (waiting on allocations) He knew nothing of the GTS when I asked. Does anyone else know if they're going to be available in the US for 2013? Another dealer told me next year a couple months back.
|
More info for US please
I have a deposit on a Turbo but the GTS may be better choice for me. Hoping for more info.
|
I called my dealer in Tampa, he's heard nothing of it yet.
|
The NY Auto show starts next week. Perhaps they will announce it then.
|
waiting to see the new red color on Cayenne
|
WooooW great looking
kwihk Thank you so much for your contribution, you posted what ppl were dying to see. |
Is the blacked out headlight housing only found on the GTS?
|
You can order blacked out lights on any Cayenne.
The GTS may have them standard.....do not know. Good looking with the body kit and new colors. |
Blacked-out tail lights and head lights are an option - pretty damn expensive one, but visually striking.
Cheers, |
Very nice looking!! Love both colors.
|
Carmine Red! sure is tempting..
it might even look better with black wheels!!! man.. better check those out in real! and give my 958 an little change in a year or two lol ^_^ |
|
The GTS looks like a great package, but I think they missed an opportunity and should have added a PDK transmission to this model, and eliminated any towing options....would have been fantastic. I have a 2011 CTT and the transmission is definitely the weakest link in its performance.
|
PDK would have set it apart from other Cayennes, and given it a sportier feel
Also, how bout a choice other than "arrest me "red and "up-chuck" green:roll eyes: The transmission in my CT has always performed well:) and I drove it real hard for the first 3000 miles(Autobahn:D) Looking forward to a GIAC tune(possibly by the end of the month!) |

However, I believe that offering the PDK would have required a whole new round of Federal certifcations and that would have been expensive. I think the 8 speed slushbox in the Pepper is a damned fine gearbox and perfectly fine for real world use. BTW - As I read the micro-site on Porsche's website today that horrible green and very bright red are GTS specific colors but you can still get the full range of other colors on a GTS. For my money, a GTS in meteor grey would be stunning. |
I expected more from Porsche, no reason to replace my CS.

I love it, I'm on the list w/ my local dealer for their first 2013 allocations for an S, and today, It's changed to the GTS. I don't need the turbo, but I wanted something that looked more aggressive than the S, this fits the bill completely, I can't wait!
|
Wish it came with PDK! I am guessing next gen. models will have this option available.
Perhaps, Macan?! :) |
I drove a 991 PDK this weekend and I must say it is hard to justify spending $$$ on a TIP transmission is this age.
|
Unfortunatly, it looks as though there will be No manual offered.........

I'm never going to argue that Porsche provides good value... but I happily line up to buy them like the rest of you. But historically, dollar for dollar the GTS models (997 and 955 anyway) were great values compared to similarily spec'd out "base" models. |

I disagree. My bet is that if you're buying new today a GTS is giong to be a pretty good deal vis a vis a similarily optioned CS.

The GTS, I suppose isn't for everyone, but it's exactly what I was looking for! |

I think at the end of the day it depends on who the car is for and what you want. For some of us the GTS might not be what fits the bill. Don't get me wrong if this were just for me I think it would be something to strongly consider. But my wife drives the Cayenne a good portion of the time and she likes the vehicle as is (ie doesn't want a full exhaust system that rumbles :(). |
The exhaust would be the tricky part for me too.
I like my cars to be visually stunning but prefer a stealthy approach when it comes to sound. |

I'm assuming the sport exaust on the GTS is the same very expensive option available on the "regular" Cayenne S and if so, it works just like the sport exhaust on the 997, 997, 958 and Panamera... you can make it quiet as the standard exhaust with the press of a button.
want that on my turbo, want the lower ground coloring, and want the powerkit of the turbo S. Santa might come early....<<~~~~ |
very disappointed there's no option for a manual transmission.
on the other hand now I'm not tempted to trade up from my 6-speed VR6 cayenne. I wonder if this means they'll phase out the base cayenne's manual transmission option when they do a refresh? |
watch the video and enjoy the ride.. i wanna see the new red on real

+1 and youre right no manual. The old GTS with a manual transmission was an awesome truck. I cant imagine how great this GTS with the lighter weight, more power, and better everything wouold be with a manual. Oh well we will never know.
