Porsche May Re-introduce Transfer Case for Advanced Off-Road Use
While I was having my SUV serviced at Porsche North Scottsdale, when I mentioned the rarity of my original 955 Turbo with the Advanced Off-Road Package and its advantages and disadvantages (Namely mine weights an extra 800 pounds over stock because of the additional steel in this rare option and it weights 400 pounds more than the new one because of the transfer case), their Service Representative mentioned Porsche is bringing back the transfer case with the Advanced Off-Road Option.
Has anyone heard of this?
What I would like to see is a true 3/4 ton chassis Cayenne--something that could tow more than 7,700 pounds. That would "enlarge" Porsche's line up.
BTW, Porsche North Scottsdale is good. Their service is very good and they have more Porsches on the lot than I have seen anywhere else. Quite a selection with several CPO'd GT3's to choose from and many Cayennes.
