I think its about intent. Personalizing your Porsche is one thing, trying to make people it is something it is not is another. The badge perhaps indicates intent to deceive.

I see this way too much in Kuwait.

You'd think that owning a Porsche was something to be proud of but being construed as status symbols has a stronger effect than you might think; a lot of customers who opt for the base models request an 'S' badge added to the boot of their cars so they can make it seem like they sprung the extra money to step up to the higher-powered models and make their cars look more 'expensive' to other drivers. If they don't have the Centre do it, others do the job themselves, resulting in cars with S or even Turbo badges badly aligned on their tailgates.

I've seen V6 Panamera RWDs with 4S badges on the back [the air intakes/brake calipers/wheels give them away] and one customer who was taking delivery of a skin-and-bones V6 RWD had the word "Turbo" added onto his car. Don't get me started on the Cayennes - an alarming percentage of V6 owners have "Cayenne S" on the back. It goes on to 911s, Boxsters and Caymans.

I'm not sure what the motivation behind this deceitful badging is. I, for one, would be proud to own any Porsche be it a V6 Cayenne or a 911 Turbo and I'd never feel the need to pass it off as something it isn't.

Weird. I have a CS and removed all the badging except for the word Porsche, which I even considered removing for the "naked rear" look as it were. To each his own, I guess.

When you want to buy a cayenne, you have to personalize your cayenne as you want, as you need. Some of what you will do will be good to you, for for the other will be ugly.

Each one of us have his way for personalize his car.

This is my way I like it

Debadging is one thing. I have no problem with it. Rebadging with something it is not is another thing.

People are not upset that you put the Turbo bodykit on your S, it's the Turbo badge in the rear that is a bit.. confusing.

Why did you put the Turbo badge on?

One of the nicer white Cayennes I have seen
The black trim looks cool against the white background

Just having Porsche would be fine

about the turbo badge

I made full conversion from S to turbo. how can I drive a cayenne that it looks like a turbo and the badge said its S how stupid I will be.

some one said why i not throw this car out and buy a Turbo? because its out of my budget. this car cost me about 110K$ while the Turbo with the same personalize will cost about 165K$ which is out of my budget

by the way, the car already sold out. many people want to buy it because its the only one with same modification and under the warranty.

I'm waiting my GTS now

Here is another tip:
Put a rolled up sock in your pants, so when you get out of your fake car the girls, or the boys, will gasp at your equipment

Qatary,
We've been pretty hard on you because nobody likes the idea of the fake badging. But the car did look great, very tastefully done (except the badge) and you took our critical remarks with grace and humor. So you are okay in my book. Enjoy the GTS (I know where you can get a real deal on a Rolls Royce badge for it) Peace . .

Ken
