Talking Yeeeahh!!!!

Day 1 of ownership - Title of thread is my customized licenses plate.. lol...

I JUST TOOK DELIVERY OF IT TODAY!!! WOOO!!! OMG this thing has POWER!! It was killing me.. on the way home it was traffic ALL the way to the exit for like 15-20 miles.. I wasn't even able to unwind it.. when I did it was on the way to dinner.. and DAMN is there power!!!

But it doesn't end there.. as the evening went on.. I forgot there's a "sports mode" and.. I didn't drive it enough to notice if it starts on 2nd gear or 1st gear. Reports on here tells me the car starts in 2nd gear... but at least from what I noticed.. when I pressed sports mode.. it actually starts in 1st gear and.. HOLY @*%&* I felt like being shot out of a CANNON!!! It's SOOo easy to go so fast even in residential area! this is bad.. ha ha ha.. Good news? I didn't get any speeding tickets tonight lol..

I picked up the car with 27 miles.. and now it has 89? I think.. I got the car around 5pm so I didn't have much time to drive it.. but my girlfriend, parents and little brother came with me to pick it up.. they were all very impressed with my purchase .. my parents were proud of me xD.. girlfriend think it's sexy.. haha since she works in the airline industry she was asked today if we're gonna "test out the back seats" .. LOL...

Anyways I posted it on facbeook and.. there's so many "likes" and replies it's crazy.. apparently people love this vehicle! http://www.facebook.com/littodevil

Being on here for the past 4-5 months I got a head start on a few things the moment I got in the car... knew about the bottle holder.. the compartment under the front seats.. Got to turn on the "night light" with all the led's on in the interior at a dimmable setting. Learned that all the seat and other settings can be assigned to Key 1 or Key 2..

I did notice that my steering alignment is off by a very slight 1 degree to the right since the car will track to the right very so slightly. Also noticed that the front edge of both front fenders near the headlights where they meet the bumper and hood is slightly off... off as in it's not flush, or perfectly level but it's not something I can't fix at my body shop, and alignment can be fine tuned in my mechanic shop. Aside from that I looove it.. Haven't seen it in daylight yet but I will tomorrow!

Oh.. when I did wind it out on the freeway before I had to exit... I noticed smoke coming out of the front right side of the car in front of the headlights!!! But luckily it was just some type of .. probably cleaning solution evaporating from the passenger side intercooler. Figure under boost air was heating up the intercooler and it was finally drying up, but it's all good now .. scared me for a moment though lol..

Anyways it's been an AWESOME day!! I am ONE VERY happy and very lucky guy. They also let me keep the bow since I was asking for it before! LOL.. well I asked where I can get one but after they detailed the car they moved it into the show room floor with the bow on it and said quite a few people came in and checked out "my" turbo before I showed up ..

Now.. I have the Renntech lowering module waiting to go in.. I have quite a few things from Suncoast coming in next week. I got the Escort 9500ci sitting here as well. Now that I verify the offset the wheels will be on order as well as a exhaust, rear bumper and front spoiler lip.. which.. Jerry knows what I'm talking about ... I'm holding off on the IPD plenum, diverter valves, air filters as well as other engine mods like the ECU in case I decide to send it to TechArt to get their powerkit.. with their power kit it comes with all those goodies from them already hehe... OH!! And my custom licenses plate has been ordered back in January and is setting at the DMV office waiting to be picked up.. but due to their policy I'm not 100% sure I can pick it up without getting my standard numerical plate first ;(.. we'll see. For now I'm just SUPER excited!!! Rob, your gonna LOOOOVE yours!!! Meanwhile you can check mines out as I start "making it my own" just like when I was .. and still is.. checking out Jerry's CTT

P.S. I forgot.. it HANDLES AWESOME!! Drives just like a sports car! Oh.. and I also ordered 2 Stainless steel wheel lug nut guides from Awdmotorsports to make it easier for me to remove and install those huge tires so I don't drop them on my carbon ceramic rotors lol..

Day 2!

Spent the day and went on a drive! Burned thru my first tank of gas and had my first fill up!!!.... Not before finding a straight... flat... open stretch of road with no other vehicles around to floor it and see what this big hunk of metal can do! an DAMNN IS THERE POWER!!! The problem with this car is.. it's SO .. SO easy to go SO fast.. your sitting up high, it's a comfy ride and yet the power is SO accessible. Don't pay attention to the.. number of the mph or the miles on the odometer.. call it an "active breaking in period".. ...

Couple things I realized.. HD Radio is standard except you can't "select" it.. basically if your on a FM station that has HD radio, in about 6 seconds it will find that HD version and the HD mark will show up on the PCM and you'll notice that the sound is.. clearer like how a digital signal is suppose to be.

I also like how I was able to just connect to my iPhone's bluetooth (after pairing it) with just the controls on the steering wheel.. so whenever I jump into the car I can make calls, end or pick up without having to touch my phone... which is typical... even in my other vehicles.. but being able to change the source of audio to "Aux Bluetooth" which is my phone and start playing songs off it without even touching my phone is cool!

Oh! I also.. hmm went thru my first drive thru ever with the vehicle.. ha ha ha.. McDonalds!! The car kept beeping (parking assist) at me telling me that I'm getting too close to the wall haha..

First fill up ever costed me $109.33 at $4.299 / gal, filled up 25.432 gallons. I like how the gas cap is a simple quarter turn twist off and twist on. Odometer shows 410 miles... on this first tank I got 380.4 miles out of it. 14.96 MPG mostly freeway and... hmm lets leave the gas pedal position out of the equation this time around ... I was excited... but who can blame me ..

What amazes me so much is.. how FLAT the car is in the turn and how much G's I'm able to pull in such a .. fat vehicle! The 18 way adjustable seat literally cradles me and keeps me from moving! The turning radius is also EXCELLENT! I have a smart car with a crazy turning radius.. and my dad has a older Nissan Pathfinder as well with a crazy bad turning radius.. when I say this SUV has a tight turning radius I seriously mean it.. I'm not sure if it has a tight steering lock to lock since I didn't count how many times I need to turn the wheel to get it to lock from one end to the other but it feels like it's very small.. I'm not getting too technical in the terms but lets just say when you need to turn on a dime, you can.

I think Rak had mentioned on his Florida drive in a recent thread.. that the ACC.. Adaptive Cruise Control is AMMMMAAAZING!! Sure I read it in magazines and what not but.. actually HAVING IT?! As I got back home I ran into some stop and go traffic.. I would for example set it at 75-85 mph.. cruise along.. then I would hit traffic and the car would slow down by itself.. as the speed of the Cayenne slows, the system also allows itself to get closer to the vehicle in front which is.. normal just like how we drive.. Faster we go, further the distance. The ACC system proved it was able to slow me down to 0 mph.. and then speed back up at a relatively normal pace! If a car cut in front of me it would put on the brakes.. it's like the ONLY thing I had to do was steer and not really have to worry that I was going to rear end anyone!.. this isn't.. to encourage doing other stuff that might distract you from driving =P... but just showing how cool technology can be when it's done right and performs well! ACC.. is HELLA COOL!! (west coast slang.. haha)

At the end of the day 2 I now have 575 miles on the odometer and a bunch of bugs died on the front of my car but with the Permaplate that the dealership had put on (sealant for the paint) I expect those bugs to come off with ease. .. I also mastered most of my flight deck switches and buttons... aka the center console buttons. LOL..

Day 3...

Oh dear.. this.. hmm this day isn't for the faint of heart... if you think I'm crazy already I suggest you to stop reading and close this thread.. haha.. don't say I didn't worn you...

I started out the day having lunch with my girlfriend.. then we went to grab these tapioca drinks.. popular in the asian culture.. in america it's known of "Boba tea" where Boba is basically these large chewy tapioca ***** with a fat straw to suck it up from the drink cup. Anyways we got two of the drinks, I opted for the large cup which is the size of like a Starbucks vente cup.

I drop her off to get her car in this parking lot then I told her I'll meet her at my shop.. of course I'm still having fun gunning around in sports mode... I was going up over this freeway over pass where I had to make a left turn into the freeway onramp onto the freeway, but as I was about to slow down the light turned green for me to go... well guess what I did... experiecing the power and the cornering ability of this expensive toy I floored it... accelerated... lifted throttle and make a left hand 120 .. not 90.. but 120 degree turn onto the downward slope freeway on ramp.. and this turn wasn't banked.. it was flat and then down.. the NEXT thing I hear is BAM!!!! I turn my head to the right and to my ... OH !@#$%^ my drink that I barely took a sip of.. had EJECTED out of the cup holder (being a tall venti size and I didn't drink much of it..) and it hit the inside of the passenger door and literally EXPLODED all over the place! It INSTANTLY emptied 20 PLUS ounces of milk tea with jelly and tapioca ***** all over my windshield, pass window, pass door panels, REAR pass door panel and then ALL the liquid had emptied onto the passenger seat and turn it into a mini swimming pool! and had spilled onto the carpet below... oh damn... I was trying to stay in my lane when this IDIOT behind me decides to speed up and catch me in his janky old car and I'm trying to just stay ahead and speed up to catch up to the flow of traffic and merge safely..! WHILE reaching back to grab whatever tissue in the tissue box I had left on the floor to soak up what was left of the milk tea that spilled onto the seat and dump it back into the cup..

The force of that entire drink hitting the passenger door was enough to CRACK the plastic lid of those cups.. it's those same type of plastic lids used on cold drinks at starbucks.. you can imagine that was some force.. which.. goes to prove how much cornering ability the Cayenne with air suspension and all that chassis control and etc has...

On the brighter note.. my shop was just 2 miles away and I couldn't wait to get there to start cleaning things up.. oh my GAWD... I was like "damn IT damn it damn it damn it damn it" all the way to the shop... I just had a major spillage in my brand new 170k vehicle!!! AHHH!!!!

I got to the shop and immediately went to get microfiber towels, wet them.. came back out and just open the door and pushed all the tapioca *****, jelly and everything onto the side walk.. then I proceeded to wipe whatever I could down BEFORE IT DRIES UP!!! I did pretty good until I encountered the seats.. the seats have HOLES in them!! for the heat and ventilation function... it probably soaked up so much of the drink ;(...

After I cleaned what I could "visually" with the micro fiber towel I know.. in reality.. a ton of that drink is still hidden in the cracks.. in my seat.. everywhere.. so I took a small squirt bottle, filled it with water and started squirting little bit here and there to get the other milk tea liquid stuck between panels.... another guy there was like.. why don't I just use a proper cleaner.. I told him.. REALLY?! I don't have the time to go look for it before this dries up!!! I need to get as much of this drink out of the car before it dries up. So.. I DID THE UNTHINKABLE!!!! I moved the car closer into the shop and I took a HOSE TO IT!!!!

Yes.. yes... YES! I hosed down the inside of the car... BUT... strategically.. ha ha ha.. When I sprayed the door I obviously didn't spray into my Brumster speakers... it was on the arm rest and in the pocket area... believe it or not... there are channels INSIDE the door panels that let the water out.. outside of the seal area. The seal I'm talking about is the weather seal edge around the passenger door. What I saw come out was what I expected.. brown milk tea that I couldn't see.. I sprayed until all I saw was clear water come out..

Next? Was the seats.. I spray the seats... then I soaked it up... I spray.... soak.. spray soak.. spray.. then soak.. and I believe I got most of the drink out of the seat this way.. it was either this or rip the seat out and hose it down outside the car.. I made sure not to spray the "flight deck controls aka center console" buttons with water.

Long story short? As of today everything works.. it does take a while for the seats to fully dry... the only way was to turn on the a s s warmers while driving to just let it dry... but.. well.. reality is that I cleaned it to the best of my ability.. it's not sticky, everything works.. I still have the new car.. Porsche leather smell.

Day 3 Continued...

Then I went ahead to give the car a nice bubble bath for the first time.. ON THE OUTSIDE.... haha..

That brush you see on the floor when I was washing the outside of the car.. that was only used to make it easier for me to scrub the bugs off the windshield... I would never use it anywhere else.. I am crazy though but not dumb =P.. haha

I had a customer I had to pick up whom I had serviced her car (picked it up from employee airport lot and returned it back the same day).. one of our flight attendant's that just got off a flight at the airport and I told her I'll pick her up since it was the right timing.. For those that don't know I'm also in the airline industry and luckily I can say I do it for fun as a hobby.

So I roll up in the sparkly clean gangster mobile into the airport to pick up not one but two hot flight attendants in their black nylons, heels and black uniform dress with their roller bags.. ha ha ha... The other one was going to the lot so I offered her the ride... then she looks at me and says "Uh.. Larry... do.. we... have the.. same job?" in a funny joking way... anyways the ladies couldn't stop talking about the car and how she says she's going to give me her schedule so I can pick her up anytime from the airport lol... they both love the bucket (their term) seats and how powerful the car is (I floored it..) and how if it was their car it would have tipped over in the turn.. Moral of this story is.. it's approved by the ladies..

I still haven't figured out how to enable the heated steering wheel option...

Day 4 - Didn't drive, I went out flying...

I had brought the car's owner manual with me hahaha.. I now know how to fold in the mirrors from the outside... hold either the lock button on key or on door for more than a sec and when I get back in to start the car it'll open back up.. but not if I fold it in when me inside the car..

Oh! I found how to enable heated steering wheel! There's a button behind the steering wheel at the 6 o clock position haha...

Day 5 of ownership

Just got back tonight.. raining like crazy!... found out my the vehicle is equipped with auto wiper speed sensor.. was worried it didn't...

Time to fill up gas.. for the second time!

-716 miles on odometer
-307.4 miles to this tank
-Filled up 24.97 gallons @ $4.059 / gal
-Cost $101.35
-Oh... 12.31 MPG.... Yes I need to stop driving it so hard... but it's such an AWESOME VEHICLE!!!

Lets see if I can behave and get some better mpg on this 3rd tank ..

Larry

Larry- you're killing me. You are a laugh a minute. You should have been a writer. You are so descriptive and funny. I love the picture of the ***** from the drink. You turn a bad situation in to humor- I love it!
Especially since mine didn't arrive yet it is great to hear every little detail from your view. Keep up the entertainment. I'm sure RAK is getting a kick out of your antics. And next time can you get some pics of the girls with the heels and so on......

haha..you crack me up.

So, tell me this. Where in the Bay Area can you go 161mph with that pic you posted.

So much for the break-in RPMs. You pretty much raced it after you got it.

My very first break-in miles were on "no limits" autobahn..with my one and only immediate thought naturally being:"let's see what this bad boy is made of"followed by a week-end at the Porsche driving school in Leipzig,on a track that manages to be both technically challenging and fun at the same time
I honestly drove it as hard as I could from the start.Leipzig to Berlin in 55mnson day 3..only bummer is not being able to hit 300km/h..no more than 287!
3000 miles of that kind of driving has allowed me to enjoy 11 000 miles of flawless performance..without even adding a drop of oil yet
I just wish I had had all the extra goodies now installed on my CT when I was in Germany...pretty sure I am good for those 300 now
Just my 2c

Damn. And I was all pissed when I spilled a just few drops of coffee in the cup holder. I suppose had you not sprayed it down, the stewardess might have stuck to the seat or at least her uniform. I would think that Porsche must have thought about protecting against a window down in a rainstorm so I suppose things will be ok as that's the area where it hit. At least it's better than had you stopped suddenly going straight ahead, it might have gone all over the center console.

Thanks for sharing and a nice report with the details on how you spend with the car. For me, until now, I still haven't try so hard on the car. I think I should try it some time... The dealer told me its better not to go over 4000rpm on the first 2000 miles, not good to do it before the break in, so is that right? And did you ask the dealer to put on the sealant for the paint for you? or they just did it without charge? And if next time your car don't have enough sits for your flight attendants, I am always available and willing to pick them up for you

Drive it like you stole it..is my break-in advice
What many seem to have lost track of,is...these cars were meant to be DRIVEN...not coddled,pampered..blah-blah-blah
Works for me...after driving mine, from the very beginning, harder than 99% of other owners, i happen to have one of the more flawlessly performing CTs on the road..11 000 miles without even having to add oil yet
Just my autobahn broken-in and tested 2c
Ps:Larry, sorry for the brief thread hi-jack
It's just your wisely chosen title that inspired me to share my experience with y'all
Kudos for a witty and enjoyable write-up..and I believe we all look forward to more
Yours that is

I would have been freaking mortified if I spilled that **** in mine. Yikes!! I WAS a maniac about not letting my daughters eat/drink in my cars before i got divorced. After that, I had to ease up a bit cuz I was karting them all over creation for their activities. 6 months before I bought my CS, my daughter spilled a full Chic-fil-a Strawberry milkshake on the back seat through every crack of my RX. Spent hours cleanig that **** out. Needless to say...I am a maniac once again.

Might not hurt to get some Lysol aerosol spray down the areas you can access
Or use one of those little straws like on WD 40 to get between window and door

...not that much more..got about another 10-15% extra than you will eventually have in a few months
Which is what's remarkable about the CT..how it effortlessly puts down the power-and is no doubt able to handle more
All the best with the drive back
