I have a 2012 CS and recently transitioned out of an android os phone to HTC 8X (Windows Phone 8). I was driving along and my phone beeped in my pocket indicating an incoming text. Seconds later, the "Cayenne Voice" from the PCM ask me if it should read the text. It also allowed me to respond to the text by speaking. When I checked my phone later, the phone showed the text response perfectly. I had no idea the CS had this feature-it did not work with my Droid, but I guess the new windows phone 8 allows this to function as described. Very cool feature.

 

Hopefully they get something worked out for iPhone users. Hate how it doesn't even beep when I get text and its connected via Bluetooth

 

You have AT&T or Verizon?

I would assume AT&T with RSAP profile in the bluetooth stack...

 

Verizon. This is apparently a feature of windows phone 8 (7 may have had it as well). Really a nice surprise. Unlike many of my fellow drivers, I don't text while driving, no matter how many times my wife "pings" me.

 

@C4SxM5 - I get the "beep" for an incoming txt when I am playing something from my iPhone. I do not when I am using other mediums (SAT, FM, ...). Verizon Iphone 4. I know, I know...waiting on Jan upgrade on work phone!!!

 

How my phone connects to my PCM...is pretty much one of my,if not the, lowest priorities when getting behind the wheel
Actually find it annoying when I get a call and the pcm cuts off the music,to put voice over speakers..NOT what I got my Burmester for
