Retrofit Auto Dimming Interior/Exterior Mirrors
Retrofit Auto Dimming Interior/Exterior Mirrors
Just picked up a 13 CGTS, which I love so far! This was a dealer preordered car and although it was ordered with everything else right they did not order the Auto Dimming Interior/Exterior Mirrors. I have had this feature on my other cars for years and did'nt realize until I picked this up how much it helps reduce glare from traffic behind, (Which is were the traffic mostly is when you drive a Porsche). Does anyone know if your able to retrofit these?
Thanks,
Bruce

If your dealer cannot answer your question, may I suggest you call Suncoast Porsche in Sarasota Fl., parts dept. if there is a retrofot available they will know about it, and be able to supply you with the kit.
Thanks RAK, that was actually my plan. Waiting for a call back from the dealer now and if they don't have a good answer will call Suncoast. You know how this type of thing goes though, in alot of cases if there isnt a OEM Kit available for it alot of dealers will just say no when in fact one of our resourceful frinds here may have pieced it together.
Appreciate the responce.

I'm going through the same problem. My dealer accidentally omitted the auto dim when I ordered the car, they added it with confirmation from Porsche of America, and Porsche of Germany said no to the dealer. No one told me during my several month wait. I had to figure it out on signing day. My dealer said no retro fit options are available.
Wow. I never heard of this before. You have to specifically order the auto dimming stuff? I didn't see any choice for that on the build on the website.
This doesn't come standard with the Turbo?
Thanks, Rob.

I can't figure that out either RAK. The only light codes I have for my order is:
AEH Extended LED comfort lighting package $845
PP6 Light Comfort Package with Memory Package $250
I can't find reference anywhere for the dimming mirrors but I know I have seen it somewhere.

On my CTT window sticker dimmable mirrors is included under standard equipment in the Comfort/Convenience portion of the standard equipment.
No question in researching te GTS there appears to be a $420 hit and a separate option code.
Does not appear to have this option fr turbo or turbo s but as I referenced before I'm getting tagged for $250 for the light comfort package whatever the hell thatis

OK RAK. Makes sense that is is included in the Comfort Convenience part which I am getting.
I also got tagged for the :
PP6 Light Comfort Package with Memory Package $250.
Did you order the next level for the lighting called:
AEH Extended LED comfort lighting package $845 ?

right .. The red reflector lights of the open lid consist of a bank of 4 bright LEDs on each side of the lid. Impossible to get a good photo with my phone because of the flash...but you will see...very kool indeed.
Dealer said most customers balk at $845 for a few LEDs and most inventory cars never have it so its a rare option.

I love it- can't wait. I could see people not wanting to go the extra $ but I am all for lighting in many different spots especially since a lot of it sounds dimmable for a nice night driving effect. And all the talk about the ones that have a mix of led and regular bulbs sounds annoying.
