jsaccio is infamous around these parts
Same performance, less weight, maybe

The only thing I'd change about my CTT is the weight. It feels heavy to me so if I could drop 1000 lbs it would be perfect. Does the Macon fit the bill? Perhaps if they make a Turbo S.

HA,in true Porsche fashion..that will NEVER EVER EVER happen
The Macan will never be more to the Cayenne than the Boxster/Cayman is to the 911
Just my 2c

The wife has a Q5. It is a decent car and has all the space we need. The Macan (Turbo) has the potential to be what we wish the Q5 was re: performance. We have been looking at MY 2011 Cayenne Turbos to buy next year. If the Macan proves to be a solid performer (thinking 375-400 HP), we may end up going that route.

The new auto is the same as what BMW are using in their new line up so its pretty good. BMW ditched out of the DCT as you know......apparently saying the new breed of autos are better....less quirky.

Since I own 955 S, I am considering this as a possibility as 955 is outdated. At the same time, getting a coupe while keeping 955 S is also very tempting as well.

Hi Speed - no, the Q5 it is a base US spec '09 - 270 hp 243 lb-ft. Off topic: I just purchased an EP1 for my recently acquired 7T last evening. Should be here next week. Very excited. I'm aware of your (and many others) advocacy of the product!

I read about it over on RL. Seems you kicked a goal with both the car and the exhaust. Best of luck to you and congratulations, you will enjoy it!

Lol, true, but comparing an evoke to a Macan is a bit brutal. Im pretty sure the Macan will surprise a few folks here. Especially the turbo diesel.

don't know about BMW, but the cayenne uses an old style with torque convertor - the PDK is totally different double clutch.

if the PDK was on the Macan, it would almost be a game changer on the two. Porsche keeps saying no PDK on Cayennes

not interested. Not only would I not want to swap but especially not on a version 1.0 Macan. A car would have to be out at least 2 years before I'd even consider it even if I didn't have a CTT. Why be a guinea pig for all the issues that come in a new car model?

You either have to be really desperate for a Macan or financially in trouble to switch from CTT to Macan. Either way, a stupid move IMO, especially when MTT (Macan TT?) may not be available in the first year (Guessing).

I think more people will go SQ5 based on the impressive and proven 3.0T engine. Also agree not buying the first year of the Macan.
