Convertibles?
Convertibles?
So much for the "utility" component. I'll bet that design eats up 40% of the cargo area. You've just created the SIV (Sport Inutility Vehicle). And a woodie hoodie? Gimme a break !!

Makes more sense than a Murano Cross Cabriolet. I mean, what sector of the market was clamoring for a 2 door, drop top, SUV?!?! The scary part is, the NCE is a one off by a custom company, for people who have more money than brains This abomination was actually built by NISSAN.
Makes the X6 look like a vehicular Swiss Army Knife of utility by comparison.

Those convertible Muranos are kinda popular in my area. I almost had an accident the first time I saw one from the "WTF?!" questions that ran through my mind at the time.
I understand wanting one car that does it all even if it compromises (and the Cayenne is a perfect example), but this idea doesn't just compromise. It just throws things out entirely. As Greg pointed out already, there is going to be no storage space in the cargo area so it really isn't utility. Furthermore, since you've cut off the upper body, it's handling/stability is going to be severely compromised as they've either out right removed the structural rigidity or added a ton of weight to try to compensate with new support structures.
So it's no longer useful as a utility vehicle and it no longer performs like a Porsche. Sounds like a great idea to me
Add some monkeys on the roof and it reminds me of the Top Gear episode where they converted the van into a convertible.
