'11 Cayenne Base, Upgrading from 18" to 21", problems?

Hi All-

I would really appreciate some help.

I have a 2011 cayenne v6 with OEM 18 inch wheels. I was planning on purchasing OEM 2008 21 inch wheels.

Will I run into any problems installing them on my car? Spacers need? Suspension? Etc...

Also how do I reprogram the car's computer for ABS, speedo, etc... for the increased tire size and weight?

If someone could provide some peace of mind I would really appreciate the feedback and help!

Thanks again for all your help!

Jason

You will need wheel arch extensions. They have those at Suncoast.

I recall some here fitted older wheel from a 957 to a 958 cayenne and required spacers to have them properly fitted. Otherwise no other changes are needed subject that you use OEM tire size for the 21 rims. I don't think the larger arch extensions are required as when I installed my 22 inch rims they fit just fine. I opted the larger arch extension for cosmetic reasons.

What about the reverse. Going from 21's to 18's.

I have a 2011 Cayenne base & I’m running 22” wheels on mine. No spacers are needed. Arch extenders are for cosmetic purposes. Suspension upgrade is pretty much preference as is everything else, but the lager wheels will fill up the wheel well real well, but it will also raise your vehicle a few inches. I opted to get a suspension upgrade bc steering seems a bit sluggish.

What did you do for the suspension upgrade?

I bought some BC Coilovers, but I adjusted to the handling so I don't think I'll be installing them.
