tilley is infamous around these parts
11-13 Sport chrono/Compass retrofit

Has anyone tried this- looks like it is from the same vendor selling the coloured key inserts. Before I drop 815 (OBO), I was hoping to hear from anyone that may have purchased. It seems to be OEM parts, except for maybe the cable?

Mine came with the Analog clock and it got replaced with a Sport Chrono due to the clock issues. When they did it I know they had to update the system to get it to recognize/use it and that didn't even include getting the full functionality of the Sport Chrono (just acts as a clock, no timer or other functions). I was told I needed a different PCM model to get the full SC functionality.

I had also talked to some techs about swapping out with a compass, but they said it's a different wiring harness. I haven't seen one myself though so can only relate what I was told.

So basically my input is, that's just the parts and you'll still need to pay your Porsche dealer to recode the car for it function (and then it may not support all the functions).

any case you need Piwis 2 to activate feature or reprogramm instrument cluster.

Some time, on 2012 MY car it is possible to start sport chrono watch only as clock, some time on 2011 It can be used as sport chrono, include PCM features. We do not know exact reasons. But at least attractive clock with amazing running arrows you can get.
And new part you have to turn on in the car, equipped Sport Chrono from factory, else small arrows will not indicate time.

Wondering if any one else done a retrofit of a regular clock to a sports chrono? I like the look of a digital display in the clock, and want to change out my existing "regular" one for chrono. Don't really care about the actual chrono mapping in the engine, but if anyone knows anything about that please share.
