Opinions on Platinum Edition

Hi
just starting to do my research on purchasing a Cayenne. I have a question regarding the Platinum Edition v. ordering things a la carte. Is it typically more expensive, the same, or cheaper to buy a "special edition" that has the same options?
TIA

I just saw it on the website. Well if its the same as the platinum panamera, it will be a better deal to go with the Platinum Edition. You'll get a lot of options fitted standard for less money.

All I can get for sure from the website is that you get a special color, different wheels, and PS+. Maybe it includes the Pano, PCM, and parking sensors. It also appears to be limited to the Base and Diesel versions. Anyone have a link for the actual standard options?

It looks like it may just be the Premium package with special paint and wheels. Assuming the Pano is included that's about $2k less than building a "standard" Diesel to match (not including the wheels (maybe another $2k value) and assuming the paint would be a standard Metallic color value).

Something else to consider since we are getting on to it is that if you can hold out until the books start opening for the 2015s it's expected for the Diesel to get a power bump (not sure about the Base). There will be some other minor tweaks too and of course a bit of a price bump I'm sure.

Found a link from the thread on RL

Looks like it's the Premium Package without the Pano, 19" rims (so roughly 2k in value), colored wheel crests, special door sills (don't know the cost of aluminum sills off the top of my head), and two tone leather (may not have a choice on color?).

So it sounds like it would be a good savings indeed if it's options (or what they'll let you change) fits what you want.

finally announced, 2 months ago when I wanted to place the order for the 2014 CD, porsche replied saying they are not building the normal one but only the platinum edition, I'm glad I didn't wait, cancelled the european delivery and took the discount for the 2014 GTS
