Rotor Question

To all members who are more knowledgeable, I have a question.

The Porsche Service Advisor told me today that the turbo rotor couldn’t be re-surface. Due to it's soft nature it'll needs to be replace. Is that true?!? I know rotor couldn't be re-surface due to the thickness, but first time hearing steel rotor can't be re-surface.

Some advise please. Thanks

j080808 is infamous around these parts
I was told my 991 rotors couldn't be turned because of thickness. That's strange about them being too soft.

Why do they need to be replaced or turned to begin with? Just time for pads?
