Cayenne door squeaks when twisting or going at super slow speeds over bumps
Cayenne door squeaks when twisting or going at super slow speeds over bumps
Guys - has anybody experienced this? I don't get any other rattles or stuff like that but these door squeaks are killing me. Same seams to occur when I push slightly the upper window area on the outside close to the pillars. The squeaks are less pronounced after I have driven in the rain.. I do treat the weather strips regularly but I just want to get rid of the problem more or less permanently. Please help me out. Any ideas, experiences or solutions are welcome. Thank you!!
I haven't had anything like that, but that would suggest something is flexing that shouldn't be. Has it been in an accident?
If it's still under warranty, have the dealer look at it and adjust the door (hopefully that's the issue). If not, find a good body shop and have them take a look to see if they have suggestions.
This could be anything as simple as the door needs some adjustment to as bad as unknown frame damage if it has been in an accident.

Thanks for the note! The car is accident free with a very low mileage and still under warranty. At my last service, I asked the dealer to look at the door alingment and was told everything was fine. They really seemed reluctant to test the noises as they said it would require a rather extensive road-test, which would take a lot of time
. So we left it at that. I hope someone hear has the same issue and cause this is apparently pretty common. I've heard it from BMW and Audi owners and Porsche owners also, but ideally I want some feedback from a 958 Cayenne owner.
P.S. I live in an extremly dry climate, which in turn may effect the weather-stripping more than it normally would overtime.

Guys, I appreciate your input and advise. I tried really hard over the weekend to detect the source of the squeaks, and I did it! The noise was coming from the lower part weather-strip on the driver's and passenger's doors where it's sort of connected and integrated into the lower plastic panels (outside) that run through all four doors. If you hear anything like what I described just go over that weather-strip, grab it, pull it, push it back and forth and you will know right away.
Furthermore, the product I used to fix it is the one I've been using for years - SwissVax Seal Feed. For its application, this is the best one you will ever find. Your rubber seals will feel and look like brand you for years! Trust me! I had used the Gummi Pflege before and threw it away as it's total junk compared to the SwissVax stuff I just mentioned.
This will probably not solve my issue permanently cause the rubbing is sort of inside and is almost impossible to get to to treat this. If the squeaking returns, I would be willing to try this product recommended by my friend and Porsche owner in Germany.
This is the product he tells me they use over there all the time:

Has anybody tried this one by any chance?? This one apparently leaves an extremely adherent film of soft grease and is specially suitable for noise suppression. I've never heard of it before but I think it's definitely worth keeping in your garage.

I have also used Aerospace Protectant 303 before and it also did the trick..
Thing is you need to clean them before you apply it.
If you had silicone based stuff on it before anything you put on will wipe off within 100 miles.. So clean them before as good as you can and let them dry and then apply it. Try and message it into the rubber with a few coats and they will be as soft as the day you got the car.
