the scary part is to remove the tailgate trim.
1-remove 2 torx screw inside the emergency triangle storage compartment(empty in us models)
2-remove left hand luggage compartment light (easily pops out) and stuff the wire back into the hole and remove the two torx screw inside the handle hole.
3-remove the luggage light on the right hand side and push the wire back in and push the trunk closer button OUT to disconnect it and stuff the wire back in. now remove the one (or two, i forgot) torx screw.
4. remove the lock cover- pulls right off.
5.now the whole cover can be pull down-scary but not hard. there are about 10-12 clips. i found hard pull much more effective then trying to pop them one by one. i pried open one corner and just yanked the whole thing out.
check out the reverse camera thread. i had to remove the trunk cover to install the trunk handle camera. the video showed the clip locations and pry tool that could be helpful.
it's not as hard as people think. i didn't break or loose any clip because they are nice metal clips (unlike mercedes). make sure you line them up when you push it back to avoid bending them. i did the whole thing myself but a second pair of hand would be nice to pull it off and put it back.
good luck.

the is the closer cover. just pops right off
this is the trunk closer button
this is the warning triangle compartment-see the torx screw
this is what the cover looks like removed
this is the clip they use. very sturdy and can slid in and out from the top. make sure they are all in place when you push the panel back

You're a star
Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you. That's all I can say.
I had an effing annoying rattle from a wiring connector behind this trim, about 5 inch below the bottom R/H corner of the rear window. Without your post I would never have considered ripping this large piece of trim from it's mountings, and would never have shut it the f*ck up.
Nice one! Many thanks.
