what is this switch for?
After having my car for two years, I stumbled on this switch on the "B" pillar to the left of the drivers seat in between the front and rear area .

What is it for? Any ideas? My 2013 cayenne is a Base model with no options other than XM radio and tow package.

Page 246 (or thereabouts) in your owner's manual - it deactivates the passenger compartment monitoring system of the alarm in case you leave your dog inside and arm the alarm on leaving.

As indicated above, disables the internal monitor for the alarm system.
