I guess a used vehicle isn't covered under the Lemon Laws - but since it's a diesel, you may be in line for Porsche to buy it back from you due to dieselgate. There is a longish thread on this subject if you have several hours to waste reading it:

No help on the check engine lite front (although I went through similar issues with my 2013 S recently), but just to point out that in California consumers apparently do have protections under the Song-Beverly Act for used cars IF the manufacturer's warranty (either original or extended/CPO) is in effect when the problems occur.

Not sure if this applies in your case, but if so you might want to talk to a lemon law lawyer about it. Even if the car is running fine, I'd suspect the light qualifies as a serious defect in that:
a. The car would not pass smog with it lit (admittedly the diesels have a whole additional set of challenges on this front)
b. It might indicate a problem that would cause further damage, for which you'd be on the hook, if you continue driving the car.

Good luck.

Interesting that the coil light on the dash lights up all of the time on yours...I never see that light on my dash...even when the car has sat outside in -3 degree temps. The MFD on mine will on cold-start mornings say "Engine Starts" while the glow plugs fire off. the longest that has shown on mine has been 2-3 seconds before the engine fires over.
