Hello all, I just purchased a 2013 Porsche Cayenne V6 to replace an E63 AMG. Very big change in life!
A few things I am already disappointed with.
1) No Keyless Entry
2) No Push to Start
3) Vibrations in car at idle
4) Hard to see digital speedometer with poor placement
5) Horrible Rear View Camera quality
Do you guys have any suggestions with the 1-3 issues? Anyway I can get keyless entry and push to start? It's a nuisance having to remove the key from pocket every time. I mean come on Porsche its 2013! Should come standard.
Some notable options I have is:
Panoramic Roof
Premium Package Plus
Turbo Wheels
ParkAssist
Lane Change Assist
Bose Surround Sound-Upgraded
Would love if anyone can shed any insight about any tips or hacks on these cars.
1. - It's available as an option (called KESSEY), but retrofitting it would be VERY costly and difficult to do. One guy somewhere did it - he showed photos. Turns out he had to remove the entire interior in order to run the wiring and mount the multiple antennas. See the thread referenced above. Last he posted it still wasn't working correctly.
2. - Come'on.. push button to start. That was a step backwards. So Japanese. Sad. KESSEY uses a permanent fob in place of the key - and you simply turn it to the right and the engine starts running. Like race car.
3. - Something wrong. Sounds like something serious. I'd take it back.
4. - I can see it just fine. Have you had an eye exam lately? Loss of close vision does kind of sneak up on you. Heck - you can even read it in my avatar..
5. - See #4. (Also contrast and brightness are adjustable - if someone porked those up..)
As far as the Bose - I can't recall ever seeing a 958 Cayenne that didn't have at least the Bose setup. The really GOOD setup is the Burmeiser - but it was a $4,000 option, so I'm guessing very few base models are fitted with it. The Turbo wheels are nice - except easy to curb (the former owner of my Turbo managed to get all 4 - now fixed), LCA is nice once you get used to it, Park-Assist is really excellent. It has spotted a 1/4" aluminum snow marker rod at the edge of a curb - and accurately shown how big it was and where it was in relation to my rear bumper. Very cool and well done.

I don't have keyless on my Cayenne either and it does take time getting used to since all my other cars have it. You'll probably also need to get used to left hand key if you haven't had one before.
I think the digital speedo placement is absolutely perfect. I find it better than my C63. The only car that I think has a better digital speedo placement is my X5 which has the HUD.
Rear View Camera can be clearer but there's nothing we can do about it. Depending on the year of your E63, it shouldn't be that much worse..
As for the sound system, you're good with the Bose. Cayenne base sound system is complete garbage. I don't have it on mine and music is completely FLAT.
#1-2 is a matter of preference. My wife has both options and I do not, and while I don't care either way enough to sway a decision to buy, I actually prefer without. The key is finding the car that has the options you want already installed. Since you are past that point it might be possible to add, but it will test the limits of how much it is worth to you, that is for certain.
#3 Sounds like it could be an issue with a motor mount or something, but there is no way to know so definitely get it checked out or return it (if you can) if you don't want to mess with it.
#4-5, I think they are both just fine. The placement is perfect for my, I have never had a problem and the rear view mirror in conjunction with the large screen backup camera have been great. The middle rear seat headrest blocks a little of the view in the physical rear view but you can remove it if that is a problem.
Hi, I bought a used 2013 cayenne diesel with no spare wheel. In the toolkit box, I got 2 layers of tool storage stacked one above the other located on the right hand side. i seem to have something missing from the bottom storage compartment and I cant figure out what exactly is it. What's included in this compartment is a hook and the tire pressure unit. Please see picture attached. Separately, I cant seem to find any sort of wrench to take the standard wheel nuts off, so wondering if it's the wrench that is missing, although the space where the tool is missing doesnt look like it's big enough for a wrench.
