Door handle emergency key cap

I had to use the emergency key to unlock the car door today. So I inserted the key under the door handle cap and pulled the cap and unlocked the car. But when I tried to put the cap back on it won't stay put I can pull it with the slightest force. Is there a trick or something to install the cap back on ?

One time use design? Unfortunate since I'm sure the new one doesn't come painted (but I'd be delighted to be proven wrong on that assumption..)

not a one time design. for some reason my remote unlock/lock buttons wont work sometimes and ive had to manually unlock and pull the cap off 4-5 times now. when putting it back on, you have to hook/slide one side on first before you push/snap the other side in. op probably just tried to snap the cover back on all at once and broke the tab. mines still intact after removing and re-installing many times.

This happened to me back in November twice in one week after buying my Cayenne. I since put new batteries in BOTH keys to address the issue. It hasn't happened since.
