iCarScan PSA: Do Not Use "Special Function">"Restore Default Setting" for Parking Bra

So yesterday after I replaced my speed sensor, I was looking into adjusting my parking brake. Went through the menu and put it in service mode. I didn't adjust anything, but now it's stuck in service mode. I tried to calibrate but the gap is too large so it won't accept.

I then hit "Restore Default Setting" and it brings me to a menu that says something like "Start the Drive Link" NO NOT PRESS "NEXT"! It will wipe out your coding and YOU WILL LOSE PARKIING BRAKE. Activating the button will not engage the parking brake and the "park" light will flash about 10 times. Obviously, I pressed "next"...

I scanned the code and this new error message showed up: C11006

My iCarScan is running the outdated Porsche software so it's missing a critical menu selection. I grabbed my Launch x431 and fired it up and noticed there's a new menu selection called "Control Unit Replacement" under "Special Function".

In this menu, there's a selection calle "Write Random Code". This is for coding the parking brake. The default code on our Porsche Cayenne Base and probably all Cayennes that don't have the PCCB brake is 01030100. I had to get this number off of another Cayenne. Mine was defaulted to 00000000 after I hit "Restore Default Setting".

I hope this information is helpful to someone out there. The iCarScan is a powerful tool so just be careful.

Just realized title is too long: MODS, please just remove ""Special Function">"

Thanks!
