Dyno run

Dyno run
Just completed a dyno run on my 07 CTT at Dastek in Pretoria this morning.
This was the baseline run before the mods start
Unfortunately the results were a pretty disappointing 271 bhp at the wheels , should have been more like 350 right ?
I checked the fault codes on the engine after the run and found a P0332 (knock sensor low bank 2 sensor 2) fault code. I am thinking maybe this is causing the engine to "hold back" a bit.
Anyway I've ordered the knock sensor and will fit it when fitting my new 82mm throttle body and intake . Also doing secondary , and maybe primary cat delete.
I'll do another run in a few weeks after cat delete and throttle body are done.

Dyno run #2
After the first dyno run the following fault codes where found
There was also an "ambient temp via CAN" and "fault code in another control unit". (making up the 4 fault codes indicated in the pic)
So:
Installed new thermostat - solved "Coolant temp implausible"
Installed new ambient temp sensor - This is the one just behind the front bumper, which gives the ambient temp you see on the dash and radio display. I knew it wasn't working, but thought it was just for info !! It is apparently a lot more important. - Anyway this cleared the "ambient temp via CAN" and "fault code in another control unit" fault codes.
I had access to the knock sensors while fitting my new E81 intake manifold, turned out one of the plugs was loose and just had to be reconnected.
So all fault codes where cleared.
After running the engine a while, 2 new fault codes appeared.
These just required cleaning of the MAF sensors, the right side sensor was visibly dirty. I was able to clear the codes after cleaning the sensors.
Fitted The E81 inlet manifold, 82mm throttle body and y- pipe
Also did secondary cat delete.
Back to the dyno this afternoon.
The video is not actually one of the good runs, just some video for effect!

Dyno result was 366 bhp at the wheels.
(This is 96 bhp up on the previous run of 270 bhp)
At first this looks disappointing but I after adding some correction factors as follows:
Firstly 22% for drivetrain losses (found on some other posts on this forum)
Then using DIN 70020 method to adjust for temperature and presssure
DIN 70020 correction method
I used the following values :
T = 30 deg C (303K) (ambient temp for dyno run)
To = 20 deg C (293K) (DIN)
Po = 1.8bar (absolute pressure at max boost = 1bar atm + 0.8bar boost)
P = 1.6bar (Ambient pressure for dyno run + boost) = 0.8bar + 0.8bar boost
Correction Factor comes out a around 14%
so 366 * 1.22 * 1.14 = 510 bhp
Which I believe is a conservative estimate and not bad for a 2007 model with 99000 km , standard air filters and ECU
I think a software upgrade will be required to see a real advantage from the manifold and throttle body upgrades
So that will probably be next.
For interest , using the same correction factors on the previous dyno run (20 deg ambient, as it was done early in the morning), give a correction factor of 1.125.
So the previous corrected value would have been 270*1.22*1.125 = 370 bhp , this means an effective difference between the 2 runs of 140 bhp !!
It's a pity I didn't do a run without the new manifold and throttle body.
I'll probably do another run if I do the software or air filters
Please feel free to comment on my correction factors.

"should've" ,If it were a up-to-date dyno, this is Africa, I'm lucky to even find a 4wd dyno.
Actually Africa is not that bad.
I confirmed with the tech after the run, all data is directly measured off the rollers. There is no compensation for atmospheric conditions or anything else.
The result is what the wheels are putting into the rollers.
The DIN correction factors were suggested by the tech who did the dyno.
