Love this truck. Been having a ball driving this dude everywhere. But I have a question about the way that it delivers the power.

I give it about 1/4 throttle and it starts to build boost. By the time I get to 1/2 throttle the thing has already entered rock and roll mode. But when I give it Full throttle the waste gate opens up and lets most of the boost blow out. It's supposed to do? Seems to me that it's discharging a lot of potential power through the waste gate.

How many miles on the truck and what is your boost gauge showing as it builds the boost and then discharges it. Should come up to 0.8 bar and then hold there. If not, are you getting a "honking" sound as it releases the boost - that's usually a sign of needing new Diverter Valves. FVD and Evolution Motorsports offer billet versions of these which are better than the OEM plastic ones.

It goes up to 0.8 bar, holds for a bit and then slowly slips back to 0.6 bar. No "honking noise" that I can tell. I have 115k on it. Istead of hearing a honking sounds you hear a lot of air, Psssshhhhh, type of sound. Sounds right. Just checking.

Do you have the stock air boxes in place with paper filters or an aftermarket intake?

Pretty sure that it is all stock. Guess I need to check the air filter and switch it out to a K&N unit. The truck does have an aftermarket exhaust on it.

Mine will sometimes actually produce slightly more boost if I roll into the throttle rather than flooring it. Doesn't make much sense to me either but I've never done any real timing runs with both methods to compare. I could be wrong but I think it's got something to do with the turbo control?

Check your battery voltage. If it is more than 40% discharged... the max boost you'll get is .4bar. It's a protective feature of the ECU, when battery life is compromised.
