Considering 2020 Cayenne Turbo
Considering 2020 Cayenne Turbo
We have 2015 C4S and 2017 Macan GTS but want a larger vehicle for traveling and fun. Found 2020 with 6700 miles well optioned. Although I hate the new shifter and there appears to be no way to permanently turn off the stop/start, the car looks good, even has the Ceramic brakes (which seem like overkill on an SUV)
I always go to these forums for feedback from veterans prior to purchasing. Any feedback on this model ?

My 2021 GTS has a button to disable start/stop. It automatically disables when in sport mode.
FWIW I drove a turbo and ended up ordering a GTS. Such a great machine and just as good as turbo minus ~100hp. I don't need to go incredibly fast in it - it gets to triple digit speeds no problem. PSE sounds glorious as well.

2020 turbo has same feature but you have to drive in sport everywhere to avoid stop/start which changes shift pattern and mileage. Both of my other Porshce 15 911c4s and a 17 Macan GTS, allow you to push a button one time and it is disabled as long as you never push that button again, no matter how many times you turn the car on or off. I have a really well informed Porsche mechanic - he said he has not found a way to disable it permanently.
Thanks for the suggestion on the Cayenne GTS, the macan GTS has been a wonderful vehicle that looks like an SUV but drives like a 911.

Bought it - it is best described as a beast. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the entire front end had a clear bra treatment installed by the original owner. The local Audi dealer took the car in with 6,700 miles as a trade in, and tried to sell me a clear bra treatment during the "after sale".

I’m also coming from a 2017 Macan GTS, love the way to drives and handle but looking for something newer.
i was excited about the 2021 V8 Cayenne GTS but the test drive don’t impress me. It felt too big and as nimble. I then test drove the Macan Turbo and it also came short in the driving experience.
i ended up ordered a 2021 Macan GTS but now having a 2nd thought with a growing family. I’ve never driven the Cayenne Turbo S. I’m curious the driving experience of the Turbo S (2016-2019)
My car is a 2020 Cayenne Turbo, not the hybrid model
For a 5,000 lb plus car, it handles well in the mountains of Western North Carolina on some really really curvy roads. I would challenge you to find an SUV of this size and weght that handles better. I even took it off road and was impressed with the offroad features.
It is the first Porsche that I have owned that has the stop/start feature that cannot be disabled permanently like my other earlier model Porsches.
So I just use the "individual" driving mode where I selected sport exhaust, sport shock setting, the lowest chassis height, and turn off the stop/start. Save those settings. Then, when you start the car, it defaults to the "normal" driving mode. The first thing I do after starting it is to turn the little selection wheel on the steering wheel to the "I" setting and it resets everything.
Love the sound of the V8. This is the first Porsche I have owned with the ceramic brakes and I am glad that I purchased them on the Cayenne.
