Upgraded wheels or interior?

I was having a discussion with my manager while ordering several Cayennes. I was telling him he should order some with the upgraded two tone leather interiors rather than the basic black,beige or gray. This is around a $4K option however, he was telling me that upgraded wheels is what makes an impression. Frankly the upgraded wheels do nothing for me and are expensive (Turbo II wheels are a $5K option), as a buyer it would impress me to see interiors that I wouldnt see in a BMW, Benz or Range Rover.

So if you were to walk onto the lot what would make a bigger impression the wheels or upgraded interior?

IMO
Cayenne / Cayenne S => Interior
Cayenne GTS => Wheels (only 2k upgrade)
Cayenne Turbo => Interior + Wheels

The Interior.
Wheels can be exchanged at any time in the future. The interior that you speak of is worth every penny.

You spend more time in the interior than looking at the wheels.

Best

I feel that for a dealer it would be difficult to convince a customer of this.
For example;
Buy the car with a nice interior and come back in couple years for wheels...

Edit: To clarify, I meant to say a customer buying a brand new car would want it to look good from the outside and not have to settle if the price is a concern. You can always upgrade to a better model in a few years..
just my opinion..

As someone who has sold cars and worked for a dealer, I am also a car nut. Just makes sense that interior upgrades coming from the factory are going to be of a superior fit and finish, not to mention quality of materials.
Wheels are easy at any time, any style.
Sounds like you may have some weak salesmen that aren't able to overcome objections.
