Light comfort packages and extended LED?

Light comfort packages and extended LED comfort lighting package?

Why am I paying 1,000 to have lights in my SUV? are the standard ones insufficient? My dealer stated that these illuminate the ground, why they don't otherwise. Is this true or does Porsche just replace the regular bulbs with LEDs?

Descriptions of both packages are:
Light comfort package with memory package for $250:
Includes dimmable ambient lighting in door trim panel, overhead console and rear reading spots in LED technology. Courtesy lights on exterior mirrors and 2nd 12-volt socket on rear center console. NOTE: In conjunction with Comfort-memory-package or Driver-memory-package.

Extended LED comfort lighting packagefor $845:
Lighting package that includes exterior and interior LED lights: footwell lighting in front and rear, inside luggage compartment lighting, navigation lighting at rear lid and doors in front and rear, glove compartment lighting, sun visor lighting. Note: in conjunction with comfort lighting package (order no. PP5) additional courtesy lights on the exterior mirrors will be provided as LED lights

Just get the light comfort package, nice led strips in door armrests. The led dimable horse shoe is nice too, other than that i think its not worth to get.

USAF CRO is infamous around these parts
I upgraded both ou 08' TTs to led for less than $100. My advice, get comfort light and change bulbs yourself. Save big $

I will take the light comfort pkg only. The extended LED pkg does not get you any extra lights. You can get after market LED bulbs and DIY for less than 1/10 th of the price Porsche charges. Just do a search, a lot of people have done it. Remember there is no such thing as factory LED bulbs as Porsche does not manufacture LED bulbs.
