For my CTT 08, I am planning to replace my front pads and rotors soon and reviewed a lot of DIY information. Everything I have seen is based on the pads being able to be removed without removing the caliper design. For my 08 CTT, the front rotor has only three small open slots. The rear looks less complicated and I think the pads do come out without removing caliper.

For the front, I'm guessing that I need to remove the rotors to replace the pads?

Other than buying the rotors, rotor set screws, pads, sensors, spring clips and XZN Triple Square Spline Bit Socket Set, did I miss anything I can't get from my local auto parts store?

Can someone tell me more how difficult it is to change both front and rear pads / rotors on a CTT 08?

Get new caliper bolts too, since your front calipers will need to be removed.

 

The 08 CTT is only year model 955/957 to have the 368mm caliper up front. I covered this in a past thread.

You do not have to remove the rotor to remove the caliper to change the pad. Just make sure you properly support the caliper when changing the pads. I recommend a piece of wire tied to the upper control arm.

You will also need a pad spreader made to work with multiple piston calipers (read: more than 2 pistons per side). Your local autoparts may not have that in stock.

 

Hey , not sure if you got your front rotors replaced yet but if you haven't I have 2 brand new 08 ctt rotors I never installed up for grabs. Sold my pepper before installing them.
