I was doing 120km/h at highway with my cayenne turbo 957 , and was passing some cars . I always downshift because of turbo lagg and I want it to kick hard , so I was at 120 at 5th gear and downshifted 2 times , but the car or me downshifted at 2nd gear , rpm were at 7000+ and I hear a crying noise from the engine . No check engine light poped up but I am a little worried , did I break something , or should I check something ? What about diverter valves , I am at 85000km , should I change them ?

You possibly blew your diverter valves. Take the small top hose off each one and blow hard into them. If no air escapes...they are good. Otherwise, blown DVs will "honk" at max boost.

 

I didn't think the software would allow a downshift into > redline.

 

And actually it did allow it , soon after this, my transmission started to slip and go in limp mode. After I checked it , workshop changed the transmission valve ( 1750 euro job) and no issues after that .

 

Interesting... my TCU will not allow me to go into redline. Glad you got it resolved.
