Which One?

I am sure this has already been discussed SOMEWHERE!!! So, sorry for the repeat. Hope to purchase one in the spring and have NO clue which to get - S, T, etc. It will need to pull a trailer with a track car. THANKS! I welcome all views and comments.

All will pull your trailer except I don't think you can get a trailer hitch on the Hybrid, so you can't pretend to save the planet. Get the diesel if mileage is a big deal. The new S with 406 FTLBs of torque starting at 1300 RPM should be a great hauler. Of course the Turbo has even more and a higher starting price. The options will put the price of all in the stratosphere. Get the factory trailer hitch don't even think about after market. If you ever want roof rails they must be factory near impossible to install after.
For me personally PDCC,Air Suspension and PTV transformed the performance of the Vehicle. Don't think available on the Diesel. I also had to have a heated wheel, a must in MN but you would also love it in OHIO. I was born in Canton and used to live in Cleveland. LCA is very useful in a big SUV. If your young enough to still have good hearing maybe the Burmister otherwise Bose is very good. If you only listen to the news the standard radio just fine.
I hope this helps a little. I couldn't order right away so I studied the config program a lot and drove the dealer nuts test driving everything. They were very tolerant of me and very accommodating.

Are you looking new or used? You can get some good 955s and 957s cheap. There are some common things to know about on the older models (RL has a good sticky in the Cayenne forum), but they are good trucks.

The 958.1 is a good reliable truck outside of the Hybrid which seems to be the only one to have consistent complaints. Used models will be more expensive than the older ones, but you can still get them CPOd if desired.

The diesel is a great motor in the Cayenne. It doesn't have long legs, but the low end torque is addictive. You can get Air and PASM on it, but PDCC, PASM, and 4 zone climate control aren't available.

If you are looking at new, the 958.2 is about to start delivering. I love my diesel, but with the new turbo V6 for the S I think its the better (though more expensive) deal. About the same torque (also low end) as the diesel, but nearly twice the HP. It won't have as good gas milage though.

The Cayenne turbo will haul your car around with ease, and it's way more fun. I just picked one up after looking at the NA's, but the Turbo is the best bang for the buck.

...+1 .

I would recommend either the Diesel or the Turbo. The diesel will be cheaper, but will be more of a "one trick (tow) pony". The Turbo will be more expensive, but will tow just as good (if not better) and be more fun without the trailer.

A good compromise will be a used 957 or 958 Turbo since they both have essentially the same engine and powerband. The 957 being the cheaper of the two, but you may not be able to get a factory warranty any more.

After the winter we had, not real sure I want a diesel. And, most of my driving will be without the trailer.................well, maybe
