New tires...already!?!?!?
So I brought the 2014 CD in for the 20,000 mile service today. Actual mileage just over 22,000, as I stretched the oil change based on my last Blackstone. The service advisor pointed out that the tires are closing in on the wear bars. I knew they were getting low but...... I even rotated them at 10k miles. And almost 5,000 of that was on two long road trips to Colorado. The wear was even all the way across. **** performance!
In any event, I have the 20's. The cars. came with the Continental Cross Contact LX's.
Suggestions? I'm in TX so I could run summers, although I'm not excited about it, and those seem to be well over $400 each.
Not happy about the selection overall.

Try the Vredstein Ultrac Sessanta. I've read positive reviews on them from both a performance and tread life perspective.

Here is a link to a thread at discusses it thoroughly. I've narrowed my next set of summer tires between the Vredstein and Michelin Pilot Super Sport.

Unfortunately those are the downsides to bigger wheels. They are usually a higher performance compound which means the wear faster and you have fewer choices when it comes time for new ones.
Meh, these are Conti Cross Contact LX's. Not exactly high performance.

The larger sizes & lower profile tires also come with less tread depth overall. I have 20"s on my BMW and I feel your pain. I have had good luck with the Toyo Proxes ST2s on my X5 (getting 30K plus out of a set).
Call me, I'm happy to help.

Stay away from Continental, I had a set that last 8k miles and then had to be replaced.
Right now I'm on the Vredstein's based on positive reviews here & elsewhere. The key is to rotate every 5k miles if possible.
There's not much in the way of getting a treadwear warranty on any tire this size (I have 21s), so proactive maintenance (rotating) is a must.
