Steering faulty warning on Cayenne S

Hi All

Following my previous post.
The car wouldn't turn over and the fan was running on full pelt.
I now have another issue!!
NOTHING works....arrrgh
Went out side this morning to carry on fault findin,
Opened the drivers door, and was met with BEEP BEEP BEEP and a lovely message on the dash saying "Steering Fault" and now nothing works.
Key not making a clunk as it releases the steering lock,
Windows won't operate, can't move the shifter out of park.
Still, the radio still works! Fat lot of use that is really.
Really need help on this one people!
My wife is not impressed with me at all.
Many thanks for reading and helping me out on this one.
Andy

There are a few other threads on this forum about the steering column issues. I would hope for the best and start by replacing the battery, low voltage can cause weird symptoms and strange fault codes. even though you have charged the battery, it may still just be shot.
Really strange phantom fan symptom though ! Any signs of water damage/ corrosion maybe causing shorts ?
