So, let me see how this works... Porsche has a known issue with the plastic coolant pipes cracking and leaking. They do some sort of recall, but of course, buying a used one, slightly older means you are crap out of luck. I have a 2006 V8 Cayenne and the pipes cracked, as they almost always do. Porsche said it was $2500 to fix! The parts on eBay are $190.

They sent me a $500 voucher for the repair at the dealer, so $2,000 later the car is fixed. And to think... I believe this was a recalled item or known issue all along. Ugh,

 

The past owners should have had them fixed at the time. My dad's 2001 C4 had the RMS/IMS problem but it came up much later and he was not as forceful as I would have been when the problems were under warranty or when Porsche was fixing them so when I got the car from him a couple of years ago it had to be done at my cost not Porsche.
