Apparantly about 2 days later the FBI and customs agents showed up at the dealership asking for information. As it turns out, this guy somehow convinced Gumpert to send him the car, and stole it!!!

Wow, small world. A friend of mine lives in Ten Museum Park in downtown Miami and snapped a pic of it with his phone a few months ago:

Apparently the "owner" lived there too, and he had the car, which was originally red, painted black in a futile attempt to not draw attention to it.

I just asked him if the car is stil there, and he told me that the owner was arrested some time ago and the car recovered.
