Need help with pad and polish selection in Menz and LC product lines.
Need help with pad and polish selection in Menz and LC product lines.
Here's where i plan to buy
The Flex polisher everyone seems to love
Menzerna polishes but not sure exactly what i need
LC pads, not sure what colors to get
The Car - BLACK 02 turbo 7k miles
Paint is very shiny has been regularly waxed (still has good wax protection on it) also very smooth, feels like very little in way of contaminates as has been rarely driven and always garaged. When you look closely it has a decent amount of light imperfections that can only be seen under bright sunlight or halogen lights. Some light spiderwebbing visible only under halogen lights. The previous owner always had someone detail it for him, and probably even let the dealer wash it for him after service so i am sure they could have been at least a little more careful.
I understand Porsche paint is very soft and i want to be extremely careful so i would like to use the least abrasive combination that will do the trick.
Now for the questions
what color pads do i need and do i need anything to clean the pads after their use or prep the pads before their use?
what menzerna polishes do i need for this light correction? Does SIP (PO85RD 3.02), and Nano polish (PO106FA) sound like the right combo? do i need three steps or is two adequate?
I was considering not claying the car because the paint feels so smooth, do i have to worry about removing the wax that's on there or will the flex and menzerna take care of it? It beads like crazy right now.
Any sugestions on a paint sealant or wax - would like decent mix of durability and shine for a Black car. car won't be driven in snow or salt, not often in rain.
Is there anything else i am forgetting?
Thanks guys

1. Polisher: FLEX (pc if money is a factor)
2. Polish: Menzerna SIP and Nano Polish, zymol HD-Cleanse (only if using zymol carnauba waxes)
3. Pads: Lake Country Orange and White CCS Curved pads
4. Clay: Zymol Lehm Klay 3 and Lehm Lube
5. Wax: If synthetic is your avenue, einszett Glanz is a good choice. If natural carnauba, either zymol Titanium or Concours
You will need a good supply of high quality microfiber towels, pads, drying coths, etc. There are other things that would address the trim, glass, tires and wheels, interior, etc. I don't want to overwhelm you, so one step at a time

I know that many board members have not heard about the gloss-it products. But this system was tested and proven at our gloss-it detail facility over the past 10 years on thousands of our clients exotic & luxury vehicles.
I have used and polished with Menzerna extensively and found that is a pretty good product but will not work on all paint finishes with full paint correction results. This product contains aluminum oxide as the abrasive which dry's quickly not allowing proper or enough time to really work / Jewell the paint imperfections.
Here in Las Vegas Temp's reach well into the 115 plus range. What In noticed is that even after the alcohol and water wiped down and placing the car in the sun for a few hours that swirls and Holograms would re-appear? Menzerna contains some fillers but notice after testing that the polishes had some success rate!
As you probably know Vegas has very strong sun and is great for true paint correction inspection. The Sun never lies!
If you interested there is a 20% coupon available right now for 6speed members. Please feel free to call or email with any questions. I have included a paint correction guide for your review on the Evolution Paint Correction Guide w/ Cyclo. We are currently testing the flex machine and will be releasing a polishing and application guide.
Thanks,
Rich
