need to remove cigar smell from car
anyone know of a product that REMOVES smoke odor from the interior of a car.. dont want to cover it up.. I want to remove the cigar and cigarette smell from the interior of a family members car...
I would start with an amonia wipe down of the whole interior including headliner. You then want to shampoo all the seats, carpets, headliner etc. with a shampoo that contains an enzyme. We use Mark-V's Bio Zyme. Make sure interior is completely dry, then put an o-zone machine inside the car overnight on low setting. This has never failed us.

You will want to heavily dilute the amonia about 10-1. As far as shampoo for all the carpets, make sure it contains an active enzyme, as this will eat proteins, and odors. Seats should be thoroughly cleaned and then add leather conditioner. It's also very important in a smoker car that you clean the headliner very well.

You can use hydrated aluminosilicate. These particles help absorb odors...and is relatively cheap. Most detail places have it...or try

and that bag from griots will absorb smoke smell enough that I wont smell it anymore in the car?

It depends on how bad the odor is. I have used it with good success...I cleaned and vacumed the interior first, removed the ashtray and carpets floormats, and used arm and hammer baking soda on the carpets and then vac'ed everything. Once everything was put back, I threw a bag in, and over the week, the odor went away.
The key is removing the source...you likely have cigar odors coming from the ashtray and floor mats.

+1 on the ozone generator.
I have used one on this after replacing the headliner and seat (don't ask) and it removed the odor forever, even on wet warm days.
