Parking Lot Blues
Hey guys,
I noticed a scuff on my car, is there anyway to get rid of the paint transfer/scuff marks without the use of a rotary?
Any over the counter products would be cool/im fine with putting some elbow grease in

It's very hard to say without being able to see exactly how deep the damage is. It's possible it could be removed with a combination of claybar, paint cleaner, and/or hand polish. It's also possible that it could require some sort of wetsanding and compounding...it all depends.
thanks for the response zaneO, would the clay bar remove the transferred over paint? If I clay bar, isn't there a big chance of me "mirraging" the point, which then I'd need access to a rotary to fix?
slips my mind, I read that some type of thinner (not paint) can help remove the scuff, does anyone know what im talking about/have experience with it?

Actual scratches caused by a scuff, that depends on how deep they are.
Can you post some pictures?
Moe, I'll see if I can snap some pictures.
on the bumper edge I can feel it, must be down to the metal.
Paint pen time and some patience will be required I guess is an option, although has anyone heard of any body shops been able to blend scuffs so that the entire bumper wouldn't have to be repainted just the couple of inch lines.

Did you ever get this fixed?
