Prepping for replacement paint protection

Any hints on what to do with my paint before I lay on new Ventureshield? I've removed an older layer of XPel (half bra style...I hated the line on black paint) and removed all excess adhesive. There were no cuts on the paint from installation. If you look in direct sunlight, there is a difference in clear coat quality between covered and uncovered paint. Paint thickness gauge looks okay...no big deficit from previous polishing.

I was planning on washing, claying, polishing, but not waxing. Anyone agree or disagree?

exactly right. You will also want to clean the paint really good with Isopropyl. You will also want to "feel" ever square inch of the paint including the edges to make sure no adhesive was missed.

In some instances, where the area uncovered may look slightly different, it is likely due to the uncovered portions exposed to the elements. Either find a good detailer (or a diy) and polish the uncovered areas, but for the most part, the film hides much defect in the paint. Good luck and post pictures when done.
